Lua Lua has no problem with Perrin

Some good news at last!

Our Congolese forward has reported on his Official Icons Website that rumours of a split between himself and Portsmouth boss Alain Perrin are false and insists he has not become a negative influence at Fratton Park.

"Further to stories that have been circulating in the media these past couple of days, I would like to go on record as saying that I have not had a bust-up with our coach Alain Perrin and certainly didn't storm out of Fratton Park following our game with Birmingham at the weekend."

"Granted, I was very disappointed to have been taken off after 75 minutes, particularly as the game was so delicately poised at 1-1, but it's not in my nature to start creating problems for the management or the team.

"I've never been a trouble-maker in my life and would hate the Pompey fans to think there is a problem with me behind the scenes.

"At the moment, I feel I am playing some of my best football of my career and having scored our only goal on Saturday, was feeling confident that I could double my tally.

"That's why I showed little emotion when I walked off, but if you look at any striker who's being substituted, they will react in the same way.

"Still, Mr Perrin had his reasons to take me off and I respect that. I know there has been some criticism aimed in my direction since Saturday but the best response is to get my head down, keep working hard and keep scoring goals."
