LuaLua injured by a giant cotton-bud

The News in Portsmouth is reporting that Lomana LuaLua is out of tonight's squad to face Gillingham after it emerged he injured his shoulder playing Gladiators.

The striker will see a specialist tomorrow after tearing muscles during the team-bonding exercise.

LuaLua was hurt when a member of the club's backroom staff knocked him off a podium with a giant rubber cotton-bud.

The Congolese forward, who was wearing a helmet, fell awkwardly when landing on a bouncy castle-type surface during last week's team-building day.

He played through Saturday's 1-1 draw against Birmingham with a heavily-strapped shoulder. I did wonder at the time what was wrong with his neck and shoulders at it were visibly strapped up during the game.

Hopefully for us, he should be fit for the Premiership clash at Bolton on Saturday.
